5 Bucks for Guimaras

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Everyone knows the present serious condition of Guimaras. Three weeks ago, an old and rusty oil tanker M/V Solar 1, carrying a load of one million liters of bunker fuel sank 24 kilometers off the town of Nueva Valencia in the province of Guimaras. This leads us to think that for development to take place, sacrifices must be made. Bayanihan spirit becomes a must. It is inspiring to know that there are still people who care a lot for those in need. I admired those people who are willing to cooperate and do good for the benifit of the many.

What can I offer to help save Guimaras? I don't have a long hair or cash to offer. For a student like me and a blueblooded Ilonggo, to help my kababayan in a little way is too impossible to achieve. I thought I could'nt help. I'm not that great, you know. Hehehe..

Yet there I was able to save Guimaras [hopefully]. Yesterday, I read Kuya Eric's latest entry in his byahilo blog, he is willing to sailed Guimaras to be involved in a clean up campaign and anything he can help. He needed enough money to suffice his budget for Guimaras. He's the one nominated my blog for the 9th Philippine Web Awards for Best Blog category. Thanks to Kuya Eric for the nomination. My site is not yet an official entry. PWA will process the nomination after they will receive the entry payment of P250.00 or US$5.00 from the nominee.. After reading his blog, I decided that instead of using his his Php 250.00 for my blog to be an official entryand for fame and praises for winning, I asked him to allocate it for his budget. I realized in alittle way I could help my kababayan. Naks! Walang halo tong pagmamayabang. Ba't ko pa pinagmamayabang na hindi naman akin ang pera? Heheh.. *kapal.

I chose 5 bucks for Guimaras, perhaps my blog is not that great. It doesn't possesed the quality of a best blog. Heheh. Damn, I'm good.. *lol

After this, I had learned that for us to be progressive, we need to cultivate the so called pantayong pananaw..., simply put, whatever is expected of us to do, we must consider that it benifits many and not just ourselves.

Hayan, bitawan mo na yung kamay mo. Tapos na akong mamayabang.. Hehehe

Anyways, those who wish to help with their alms to defray the cost of Kuya Eric's fare to Guimaras and other expenses, and to support his proposed volunteer work in any way, you can contact him through e-mail address published here
